P.C. 970 AL ARSENAULT
Al Arsenault is a film director/producer with Odd Squad Productions Society and was a 27-year veteran with the V.P.D. upon his retirement in May 2006. Al did extensive beat work in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, most recently under
Sgt. Toby Hinton, his former partner. Al possesses a B.Sc. Degree in Geography and Geology from
McMaster
University (1977) and a B.Ed. Degree in Geography and Physical Education from Queen’s University (1978). Al’s interest in photography lead to his taking of numerous candid photos of life in the skids in which he has spent five tours of duty during his street-oriented career. These artistic exploits were the seed for educational slide shows that led to the making of
Through a Blue Lens (1999) and
Flipping the World (2000). He is the author of a martial arts book
Chin Na in Ground in Ground Fighting (2003) and he serves as an assistant instructor with the VPD Judo Club.
