GERRY ZIPURSKY


Gerry has 38 years of extensive senior managerial/executive professional experience in community development,organizational development, staff team building and fundraising. He joined Odd Squad Productions in November of 2007 and shortly after was engaged as the Chief Operating Officer. He is currently the president of G Zipursky Consulting Inc. and is involved in various community-corporate relations both on a local and national level. Gerry worked as the Executive Director of the Jewish Community Centre (JCC) of Greater Vancouver for 22 years. He played a major contributing role in having the JCC become one of the most successful cultural, recreational and social service institutions in Canada. He was also the Executive Director of the JCC Canada, a national association of JCCs from across Canada. Over the years he worked with a number of non profit organizations as the senior executive staff member which included South Vancouver Neighbourhood House, he also worked as a senior producer with BD Productions of Jerusalem, Israel and as a Field Instructor – Faculty of School of Social Work - UBC 1975-93. Gerry has also been a board member and committee member of municipal, national and international organizations including but not limited to, Vancouver Mayor’s Safer City Committee, 1986 Centennial Commission (Expo 86) and the Committee (for disbursements of City of Vancouver Centennial Grants) He was in charge of securing and overseeing the hosting of a 5 day International Sport Olympia which involved the participation of 2000 athletes and coaches from over 40 cities from North America and the world.
