Thank You!
Odd Squad would like to thank all the supporters who contributed and helped us raise $50,000 for youth programs at our annual Odd Christmas Fundraiser held on November 20th at the Portuguese Cultural Center in Burnaby.
This is our only annual fundraising event for our youth prevention programs, and so we were delighted to have a sold-out event with 200 guests out to support Odd Squad. Guests included Assistant Commissioner of the RCMP Adam Palmer, Burnaby RCMP Chief Superintendent Bill Parmar, Deputy Chief Don Chapman and Alison Laurin of the VPD, JIBC President Len Goerke, the Hon. Terry Yung Minister of State for Community Safety, Masayo Kawaii from the Japanese Consulate Generalโs Office, Valerie Tzeng and Joy Tseng from the Taipei Cultural Office, Dr. Rene Abi-Rached of the Vancouver Rotary Club, representatives from the Vancouver Police Union and Starlight Investments and many more Odd Squad members including our Board representatives.

The night featured youth speakers talking on the impact of Odd Squad. There was also the formal announcement of our Hannah Hadden Bursary recipients ($1000 each to support post-secondary studies): Congratulations to Liwen Zhang, Aaron Yau, and Michael Mugaruka! Odd Squad believes in sustained support for youth in our programs, and all three recipients have a long history of involvement in volunteerism and participation in Odd Squad Police Judo.

Congrats to the 2025 Odd Squad Award recipients of the night, presented by Odd Squad Board Member Jenn Keyes

Ret. VPD Chief Adam Palmer (now Asst. Commissioner of the RCMP): The Odd Squad Leadership Award

Physical Literacy and Odd Squad Judo Coaching Expert S/Cst. Chin-I Hsiang: The Odd Squad Coaching Award

And a special thanks to our presenting sponsor, Starlight Investments, and to our numerous sponsors who made this event possible.

Mark the Date for 2026!
We look forward to seeing you next year on November 19, 2026, at the Portuguese Club for another great fundraiser.
