We’re pleased to see Odd Squad Police Judo Student / Volunteer Michael Mugaruka featured in What’s On! Burnaby this month. Michael first started judo at VPD Judo when Brian Shipper ran the programs at the VPD Tactical Training Centre.
Michael has been supported by OSP with Police Judo training, travel, training camps, the Duke of Edinburgh wilderness trips, and OSP member Chris Graham connected him with a summer job of deckhanding on a private yacht on the BC central and northern coast. He was a featured speaker at our Odd Christmas Fundraiser in 2025.
Michael is working on his Red Seal certification with a long term goal of policing, and is one of our hard-working volunteers helping with the facility and work at OSP.
