It has been a busy and exciting summer at Odd Squad Productions! Our youth, coaches, volunteers and community partners have been involved in a wide range of youth prevention programs—from physical literacy and judo to wilderness adventures, film making, education and community outreach.
Growing Through Physical Literacy
Our annual Odd Squad Kids Festival welcomed more than 120 youth participants and over 400 attendees, bringing families and the community together for a day of sport, activities and fun.
Our OSP Wilderness Program also continued to expand, giving youth opportunities to explore local mountains, develop outdoor skills and take on leadership roles. Summer expeditions included Golden Ears, Nootka Island, St. Mark’s Summit, Dog Mountain and several other challenging hikes.
Developing Young Athletes
OSP youth participated in high-level judo opportunities throughout the summer, including international training in France and Switzerland, the Judo BC High-Performance Camp at SFU, and a September training camp in Vernon led by two-time Olympic gold medallist Takanori Nagase.
Our OSP Police Judo programs have also entered a new chapter under the Sport BC / Judo BC umbrella, providing new opportunities for training, coaching, travel and youth development.
Film, Education and Community Outreach
OSP continues to develop educational and documentary projects, including the Knowledge Keeper Video Series, the Ret. Chief Bob Stewart Retrospective and a new partnership with CPKN to expand video distribution.
Looking ahead, our team is preparing for OSP Drug and Gang Education and Physical Literacy presentations in the Northwest Territories in January 2027.
Building for the Future
Behind the scenes, we have continued improving the OSP website, developed the dedicated OSP Police Judo website supporting our facility and technology systems, preparing our Odd Squad Christmas Fundraiser, and creating new opportunities for youth programming.
None of this would be possible without the commitment of our youth, volunteers, coaches, donors and community partners.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support the critically important youth prevention programs of Odd Squad Productions. You continue to help us create opportunities for young people to avoid the drugs and gang lifestyle, and learn, train, explore and grow in a positive, supportive environment.
